About UIS files

A .UIS file is a WindowBlinds User Interface Specification file created by Stardock. It is used to define the rules, layout parameters, and image mappings for custom desktop themes (skins) in the Windows operating system. The major disadvantage of the .UIS format is its proprietary nature. It requires a paid license for WindowBlinds to actually apply the themes to your desktop. These files are highly specific to the Stardock skinning engine and are entirely incompatible with standard Windows personalization settings or modern web browsers. Because it acts as a blueprint that relies heavily on external graphical assets stored elsewhere, converting it directly into standard Windows THEME or MSSTYLES files is practically impossible. Standard online converters fail to process it because the format is a closed, proprietary specification. However, since .UIS files are fundamentally text-based configurations, the best workaround is to convert or read them as TXT or INI files to extract hex color codes, font settings, or layout coordinates. Often only the original software can properly read or export the visual data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
