About TXS files
A .TXS file is most frequently a proprietary game asset used for texture definitions, UI layouts, or shader scripts in titles like Pro Evolution Soccer (by Konami) and Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi (by Spike). Unlike standard image formats, these files are optimized for specific game engines (like the Croteam Serious Engine) and cannot be opened directly in standard editors like Adobe Photoshop. Users often encounter these when modding games to extract character skins or menu graphics. The primary challenge is that .TXS files are often binary containers or compiled scripts that require specialized community tools (such as Game Graphic Studio or hex editors) to view. Simply renaming them to image extensions will not work. For preservation or editing, the best workflow is converting these textures into standard PNG or TGA files. A minority of .TXS files are XML-based traffic generation sessions for the TRex Traffic Generator; these can be opened in any text editor like Notepad++ and converted to JSON or XML for better interoperability.
