A .TT2 file is a secondary TrueType font file format. It is primarily associated with Monotype Imaging CoolType technology, or it acts as a temporary font installation file generated by Microsoft Windows.
These files are typically handled by the operating system itself, specifically through the native Windows Font Viewer.
Users encounter severe limitations with this format. It is essentially an orphaned or temporary system data type. Modern graphic design software like Adobe Illustrator and standard web browsers do not recognize .TT2 extensions. Trying to load them directly into a creative project will usually result in an unsupported file error.
To make the font usable, you must convert it to a standard format. The best conversion targets are TTF (standard TrueType), OTF (OpenType), or WOFF for web development. Converting the file may strip specific proprietary CoolType rendering hints, but the core vector shapes of the letters will remain intact.
