About TSO files

A .TSO file generally serves one of three highly specialized industrial purposes. Most commonly, it is a hardware diagnostic file generated by WABCO Trailer Electronic Braking Systems (TEBS-E) to log sensor telemetry and fault data. Alternatively, it is a Tessellated Solid Object file used by Siemens Teamcenter and NX CAD to cache 3D visualization data. Finally, it can be an agricultural task data log from Case New Holland (CNH) machinery. You typically need the official WABCO Diagnostic Software, Siemens Teamcenter, or Ag Leader SMS to properly read these files. The major disadvantage of .TSO files is their severely restricted, proprietary nature. Users cannot simply open a TEBS-E brake log in a standard spreadsheet or view a Siemens visualization cache in standard 3D viewers. They require expensive, specialized industry software and hardware interfaces to natively decode the files. If exporting from the native software, you should convert WABCO logs to .CSV or .TXT for data analysis. Siemens CAD data should be exported as .STEP, .JT, or .STL for cross-platform sharing. Agricultural logs are best converted to standard .XML or .SHP (Shapefile) formats. Because this file format is proprietary and heavily locked down, it is extremely difficult to open or convert using standard web tools. Often, only the original hardware software can properly read or export the data. If our analysis detects underlying UTF-16 (LE) text streams, viewing the raw diagnostic logs may still be possible.
