About TSB files
The .TSB file extension covers several completely distinct, highly proprietary formats. Primarily, it functions as a 3D surface model file created by 3Q Technologies Tricorder software. Alternatively, it is widely used as a game resource data archive (THBS) for video games running on the Capcom MT Framework engine, or as a sound bank file in the X-Plane flight simulator. In enterprise environments, .TSB represents software backups for TAS Books accounting software and TheBrain.
These formats present severe disadvantages. The 3D models are proprietary, preventing collaboration with users on standard CAD software. Game archives lock away audio and textures, frustrating modders. Meanwhile, accounting backups require expensive, often legacy, software subscriptions just to access your own financial data. You need to extract or convert these files to regain control of your assets.
Ideally, 3D .TSB files should be converted to OBJ or STL for universal compatibility, though complex mesh topology may be lost. For backup variants, the goal is extracting the internal data. Standard online converters fail because they cannot guess which of the five different .TSB variations you uploaded.
Because this file format is difficult to open or convert, often only the original software can properly read or export the data. Our engine can detect supported underlying embedded formats - such as the ZIP compression used in TAS Books or the zlib streams used in TheBrain - meaning viewing or extracting contents is often possible even without the original software.
Convert.Guru analyzes your TSB file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert TSB file to MP4, AVI, MOV, WMV, FLV, WEBM, MKV, M4V, 3GP, OGV, ASF or RM, you can use 3Q Technologies Tricorder or similar software from the "3D Surface Model Storage" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert MTS, MOV, RMVB, DIVX, RM, H264, TS, WMV, VOB, MP4, XVID or AVI files to TSB, try 3Q Technologies Tricorder or another comparable tool in the "3D Surface Model Storage" category.
The TSB Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our TSB converter.
