The .tr3 file extension represents a TomeRaider 3 eBook file. Developed by Yadabyte, the TomeRaider software was widely used in the early 2000s for Palm OS, Pocket PC, and Windows Mobile devices. These files function as highly compressed text databases, typically used for massive reference materials like offline dictionaries, encyclopedias, and early offline dumps of Wikipedia.
The .tr3 format is obsolete and completely proprietary. It is not supported by modern e-readers like Kindle or Kobo, nor can it be opened natively on modern iOS or Android smartphones.
