About TMR files

A .TMR file typically functions as a backup or settings document for specialized timer software, most notably Free Countdown Timer by Comfort Software Group or Apimac Timer for macOS. These files store user-configured alarms, countdown schedules, stopwatch laps, and alert preferences. They are primarily used to migrate settings between devices or to restore alarms after a system reset.

The main disadvantage of the .TMR format is that it is highly proprietary and closed-source. These files are functionally useless outside of their native applications. They cannot be opened natively by web browsers, operating systems, or standard text editors. Furthermore, the extension is shared by different programs: a .TMR file generated by Apimac on a Mac is completely incompatible with a .TMR file generated by Free Countdown Timer on Windows, leading to severe user confusion.

Because .TMR files store application-specific machine configurations rather than standard media or documents, traditional file conversion is usually impossible. Standard online converters fail to process them because there is no universal structure or standard encoding to convert into formats like PDF or DOCX. The best "conversion" approach is to export the data directly from within the original software to a universally readable format like CSV or TXT.

This format is notoriously difficult to process without the original application. Our tool will identify the specific .TMR variant, inspect the internal hex structure, and attempt to show raw text or internal content. If our analysis detects an underlying or embedded readable format, data recovery or viewing may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your TMR file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
