Extract text from Profiles and presets (TLP)
To convert TLP Profiles to another format, you need Bitvise SSH Client or other Settings software.
To convert other file formats to the "Configuration Profile Data" file type, you need software like Bitvise SSH Client or a similar tool.
The .TLP file extension primarily belongs to Bitvise SSH Client (formerly known as Tunnelier) as an SSH connection profile. It stores critical connection data such as login credentials, server IP addresses, host keys, and port forwarding rules. Another common use is as a guitar processor tone preset for hardware like the Fractal Audio Systems Axe-Fx or Line 6 Helix.
These files are highly specific to their parent software and come with strict limitations. SSH profiles are saved as proprietary binary structures. You cannot simply open a Bitvise profile in PuTTY or OpenSSH without manually extracting and migrating the data. Similarly, guitar presets are locked to specific hardware models and firmware versions. A user upgrading their hardware or switching systems will find their .TLP files completely useless without the original librarian software.
Converting .TLP files directly to other formats is extremely difficult. For SSH configurations, users typically want to migrate settings to PPK or plain text TXT, but no automated standard exists. For guitar presets, converting to SYX (SysEx) requires the official editor. Standard online converters fail because these are closed, proprietary formats. Often only the original software can properly read or export the data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format (such as the ZIP structure used by Tilda Publishing project files), viewing or conversion may still be possible.
