About STUFF files

The .STUFF file extension is primarily used by specific video games to store player progress, internal data, and game variables. Notably, it acts as the primary save game format for Sneaky Sasquatch (developed by RAC7 Games) and as a character relationship data file for Yandere Simulator and its related spin-off, Daigaku Gurashi.

To read or interact with these files as intended, you generally need the original games installed on your system. However, because the Sneaky Sasquatch implementation relies on standard JSON formatting under the hood, you can open and edit these specific .STUFF files using plain text or code editors like Notepad++ or Visual Studio Code.

The main disadvantage of the .STUFF format is its highly specialized and arbitrary nature. It is a proprietary container named specifically by its developers, meaning it lacks native support in web browsers or standard office software. Furthermore, editing these game saves manually often leads to syntax errors - a single missing comma can corrupt your entire save file.

If you need to analyze or extract the internal data, the best conversion targets are JSON, XML, or plain TXT. Converting to these formats makes the raw code readable and easily parsable for developers, though it is important to note that the game engine will only recognize the original .STUFF extension when loading a save.

This file format is difficult to open or convert globally because there is no universal standard for what a ".stuff" file contains. Often, only the original software can properly read, parse, or export the specific game logic hidden inside. Standard online converters fail to process it due to this closed, proprietary nature. However, convert.guru can still identify the file format, inspect the file, and show text or internal content. Just drag and drop your file to see what it is and convert it if supported. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format like JSON, viewing or safe conversion may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your STUFF file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted SIT, CRYSISJMSF, CMBL and CY files.
