Extract text from SMW files

The Solution: The standard workflow is to convert .smw files to XLS / XLSX (Microsoft Excel) for editing calculations or PDF for locking down the document for print and review. This preserves the table structure and final cost figures without requiring the original proprietary environment.
2. Crestron SIMPL Windows Source File:
In the world of AV and home automation, .smw stands for SIMPL Windows Source. These are logic files created in Crestron SIMPL Windows that define how touchpanels, lights, and thermostats behave.
The Problem: These are developer files containing code and logic gates. They are not human-readable documents. Opening them in a text editor usually reveals a mix of readable text and binary garble, rendering them useless for manual editing outside the IDE.
The Solution: For documentation purposes, these should be archived or compiled. There is no direct "converter" to make this a Word doc, but the source code can be viewed within the Crestron development environment or exported to text-based reports for troubleshooting.
