Convert SLI to another file type
To convert SLI Data files to another format, you need EOSPRINT or other Game software.
Convert a file to SLI
To convert other file formats to the "Game Library / Slice File" file type, you need software like EOSPRINT or a similar tool.
About SLI files
The .SLI file extension covers several distinct, highly specialized formats. Primarily, it functions either as an XML-based game data library for the Spiders game engine or as an additive manufacturing slice file used by EOS GmbH industrial 3D printers. In gaming, developers use these files to store structured game logic, configurations, and dialogue. In industrial manufacturing, EOSPRINT software generates .SLI files to instruct 3D printers layer-by-layer during selective laser sintering (SLS). Other, less common uses include satellite receiver firmware updates, spline configurations for OMSI StreetCreator, and sound loop data for audio tools like Spectrasonics Stylus RMX.
The major disadvantage of .SLI files is their highly proprietary nature. A 3D print slice file is pre-compiled for a specific industrial machine; you cannot easily edit the underlying geometry or adjust printer parameters without returning to the original CAD software. Similarly, game data .SLI files are often packaged or encrypted by the game engine, making them frustrating for modders to access. They are entirely unsupported by standard web browsers, document viewers, or basic 3D previewers.
To overcome these strict limitations, conversion and extraction are critical. For 3D printing workflows, it is always recommended to manage your geometries in universal formats; convert source models to STL or OBJ for broader compatibility across desktop slicers like UltiMaker Cura. For game data files, converting the raw XML structure to a readable TXT or JSON format allows modders and developers to easily parse and edit variables.
Convert.Guru analyzes your SLI file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert SLI file to EXE, ISO, BIN, CUE, PAK, WAD, PK3, PK4, BSP, MAP, SAV or DAT, you can use EOSPRINT or similar software from the "Game Data & 3D Slice" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert MOD, BIN, CFG, SCX, DAT, MPQ, LOG, CUE, INI, EXE, SCM or ISO files to SLI, try EOSPRINT or another comparable tool in the "Game Data & 3D Slice" category.
The SLI Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our SLI converter.
