Convert a file to SEPLUGIN

To convert other file formats to the "macOS Application Plugin" file type, you need software like Apple Script Editor or a similar tool.

About SEPLUGIN files

A .seplugin file is an extension package used by the Apple Script Editor (formerly AppleScript Editor) on macOS to add custom features or tools to the scripting environment. Users manage and install these files directly within the macOS operating system.

The main disadvantage of the .seplugin format is its strict platform lock-in. It is completely useless on Windows or Linux systems. Furthermore, macOS displays these as single files, but they are actually hidden folder structures (known as packages) containing compiled code, localized resources, and PLIST configuration files. This makes them frustrating to share, inspect, or manage outside of a Mac.

Because it is an application extension and not a standard media document, traditional file converters always fail to process it. You cannot natively convert a software plugin into a PDF or JPG. The most practical workaround is extracting the package to ZIP for archiving, or extracting the internal TXT and PLIST files to read the code.

This format is difficult to open or convert online because it contains application-specific binary data intended only for the Apple Script Editor. Standard converters cannot parse macOS packages.

Convert.Guru analyzes your SEPLUGIN file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
