About SCREENFLOW files
The .screenflow format is a proprietary video project file created by Telestream ScreenFlow on macOS. It stores timeline arrangements, transitions, screen recordings, and imported media for video editing. This format has significant disadvantages for sharing and archiving. It is proprietary and exclusive to macOS. You cannot open it natively in web browsers, standard media players, or alternative video editors like Adobe Premiere Pro. Standard online converters fail to process it because it is actually a macOS package folder disguised as a single file, containing raw uncompressed assets and XML data rather than a unified video stream. The ideal conversion target is a standard, universally supported video format like MP4 or MOV, but doing this requires rendering the timeline. Because the format relies on proprietary software rendering, generic tools cannot export the timeline directly. If our analysis detects supported underlying media assets embedded inside the bundle, viewing or conversion of those raw recordings may still be possible.
