About RBN files

The .RBN file extension is primarily associated with Resume Builder by Nobody, a popular mobile app. In this context, it functions as a proprietary document containing a user's resume data, structured internally as an Apple Property List (plist). Alternatively, the .RBN extension is widely used as a compiled binary file for device firmware updates (seen in Ricoh cameras, Realtek hardware, and Nuvia satellite receivers). It is also utilized by Genesys Interaction Routing Designer for compiled routing strategies, by PTC Creo for CAD ribbon interface configurations, and as a plaintext file for Richard's Bridge Notation in card game analysis.

For resume builders, the .RBN file is strictly meant to be opened and edited by the original Resume Builder by Nobody application. Users often encounter massive frustration when they accidentally share the raw .RBN file with potential employers or upload it to job portals. Because it is a proprietary format, standard word processors, web browsers, and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) cannot read it. This renders the job application entirely useless unless the file is converted.

Converting an .RBN resume to a standard PDF or DOCX is absolutely critical for job hunting. While the original app allows exporting to PDF, users who lose access to the software or receive the file on a Windows PC are left stranded. Converting to PDF preserves the intended layout, while extracting to TXT will salvage the written content but lose all formatting and styling. Meanwhile, firmware and routing strategy .RBN files are machine-readable binaries; they are not meant to be converted, but rather flashed directly to hardware or deployed to a server.

Standard online converters fail to process .RBN files because they lack public documentation and use closed, proprietary structures. Often, only the original software can properly render the visual layout or execute the compiled code. If our analysis detects the supported underlying plist XML or plaintext structure, viewing the raw text or performing a basic extraction may still be highly possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your RBN file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted RMR, ONLINE and BMF files.
