A .RBG file is a graphical robotics program used primarily by ROBOTC and VEXcode VR. Originally developed by Robomatter, these files store block-based code logic created by students and engineers to control educational robots. Instead of raw text, the file saves the layout, variables, and configuration of visual drag-and-drop coding blocks.
The main disadvantage of the .RBG format is its proprietary nature. It is heavily tied to the specific Integrated Development Environment (IDE) it was created in. You cannot open it natively in a web browser, and you need a specialized software installation just to view the code structure. Furthermore, these files cannot be directly executed on a standard PC; they must be compiled into machine code and deployed to physical robotics hardware.
