About Q9S files

.Q9S files are highly proprietary data files used exclusively by the Mr. Contrast plugin, developed by Flaming Pear Software for Adobe Photoshop. They primarily function as specialized preset containers that store mathematical filter parameters, contrast adjustments, and rendering instructions designed to enhance details in raster images.

To open and utilize a .Q9S file, you must have a licensed version of Adobe Photoshop running the specific Mr. Contrast plugin. This represents a significant disadvantage for standard users: the format is completely closed, meaning files cannot be viewed in standard image editors, text editors, or web browsers. If you share a .Q9S file with someone who does not own the exact Flaming Pear plugin, the file is entirely useless to them.

Because a .Q9S file contains application-specific instructions rather than raw pixel data, directly converting it to standard image formats like JPG or PNG is technically impossible. You cannot turn a "settings" file into an image. This file format is notoriously difficult to open or convert because only the original software contains the algorithms required to interpret the parameters and apply the visual effects. If our analysis detects readable preset values or underlying standard data formats within the code, viewing or limited data extraction may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your Q9S file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted Q2Q, Q5R and Q7Q files.
