Convert Q2Q to another file type
To convert Q2Q settings files to another format, you need Flexify 2 or other Settings software.
Convert a file to Q2Q
To convert other file formats to the "Photoshop Plugin Preset" file type, you need software like Flexify 2 or a similar tool.
About Q2Q files
The .Q2Q file is a proprietary settings preset used exclusively by the Flexify 2 plug-in for Adobe Photoshop, developed by Flaming Pear Software. This file stores geometric parameters, distortion coordinates, and projection settings used to map spherical panoramas onto polyhedra, maps, and other 3D shapes.
The primary disadvantage of the .Q2Q format is its strict dependency on a single premium software environment. It requires an active installation of both Adobe Photoshop and the paid Flexify plug-in. Users frequently mistake .Q2Q files for actual image or 3D model files (like JPG or OBJ), but they contain no image data - only numerical configuration data.
Because this is a closed, proprietary settings format, standard online converters fail to process it into usable images. You cannot directly convert a .Q2Q file to a PNG or PDF. The only way to "convert" the visual result is to load the preset within Photoshop, apply it to a spherical panorama, and export the newly flattened image.
This file format is difficult to open or convert externally because only the original Flaming Pear software can properly read or export the specific geometric matrices. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your Q2Q file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert Q2Q file to DLL, SO, DYLIB, BUNDLE, PLUGIN, XPI, CRX, SAFARIEXTZ, APPEX, KEXT, SYS or DRV, you can use Flexify 2 or similar software from the "Plugin Settings Storage" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert LV2, DYLIB, VST, AAX, DRV, TDE, LADSPA, BUNDLE, AU, DLL, RTAS or SO files to Q2Q, try Flexify 2 or another comparable tool in the "Plugin Settings Storage" category.
The Q2Q Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our Q2Q converter.
