About PWS files
The .PWS file extension primarily represents two completely different formats: a 3D printer sliced model generated by Anycubic Photon Workshop, or an encrypted password database created by Password Safe or Sticky Password. Occasionally, it functions as an XML-based settings profile for Fanatec sim racing hardware, a weather data file for Professional Flight Planner X, or a Nemetschek Allplan CAD layout sheet. Users frequently encounter limits with .PWS files because they are highly proprietary and locked to specific software. An Anycubic .PWS file is not a standard 3D model; it is machine code containing 2D image slices and exposure times. This makes it extremely difficult to directly edit the 3D geometry. If you want to modify the print, you need the original STL or OBJ files. Likewise, password database .PWS files are heavily encrypted. You cannot open or convert them without the master password and the original password manager software. To overcome these restrictions, conversion is often necessary. If you need to migrate passwords, you must export the .PWS database to an unencrypted CSV file. For racing wheel profiles, you can often rename the file to XML to read the settings in a basic text editor. For 3D printing, while you cannot easily convert a slice back to a solid 3D mesh, you can extract the individual layer images as PNG or JPG.
Convert.Guru analyzes your PWS file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
Users also converted PSW, PWMX, VTK and HIS files.

The PWS Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our PWS converter.
