Convert a file to PPA
To convert other file formats to the "PowerPoint Add-in" file type, you need software like Microsoft PowerPoint or a similar tool.
About PPA files
A .ppa file is a legacy PowerPoint Add-in created by Microsoft PowerPoint. Unlike standard presentation files (PowerPoint Presentation .PPTX), this format is used to store VBA macros and custom commands that extend the software's functionality, rather than to display slides. Because .ppa files are based on the older binary Microsoft Compound File format, they are often blocked by modern security settings and cannot be opened by simply double-clicking. Users commonly encounter problems when trying to audit the code, update the tool for newer Office versions, or recover the original slides hidden within the add-in. To access the content or modernize the file, the best solution is to convert it to PPT or PPTX for editing, or to the modern XML-based PPAM format for deployment. A very small percentage of these files may be Archicad Teamwork Project Archives used by Graphisoft Archicad.
Convert.Guru analyzes your PPA file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert PPA file to DLL, SO, DYLIB, BUNDLE, PLUGIN, XPI, CRX, SAFARIEXTZ, APPEX, KEXT, SYS or DRV, you can use Microsoft PowerPoint or similar software from the "PowerPoint Functionality Extension" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert LV2, DYLIB, VST, AAX, DRV, TDE, LADSPA, BUNDLE, AU, DLL, RTAS or SO files to PPA, try Microsoft PowerPoint or another comparable tool in the "PowerPoint Functionality Extension" category.
The PPA Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our PPA converter.
