Extract text from PME files

A .pme file is predominantly associated with SoftCamp Document Security, a corporate DRM solution widely used to prevent data leakage. These files are not standard documents; they are encrypted containers wrapping common formats like DOCX, XLSX, or PPTX. A common problem here is proprietary lock-in: you cannot open these files with Microsoft Office or standard viewers without the authorized SoftCamp client and valid decryption keys, often tying access to a specific corporate network.
Alternatively, .pme files may be video projects created by PIXELA ImageMixer. These are timeline files containing references to media, transitions, and edits, not the actual video footage. Users often mistakenly try to upload these to YouTube or play them in VLC, resulting in playback errors. To fix this, you must open the project in the original software and "render" or "export" it to a portable format like MP4 or MOV for web use. Less commonly, this extension indicates a ZIP-based data export from Paromed medical software.
