Extract text from Encrypted documents and projects (PME)
To convert PME Encrypted files to another format, you need SoftCamp Document Security or other Encoded software.
To convert other file formats to the "Encrypted Security File" file type, you need software like SoftCamp Document Security or a similar tool.
The .PME file extension is most frequently associated with SoftCamp Document Security files. These are proprietary, encrypted containers used by corporations to lock down sensitive documents (like PDFs or Office files) and restrict unauthorized viewing or sharing. Alternatively, it can be a Pixela Movie Editor project file created by PIXELA ImageMixer. A major disadvantage of both formats is their extremely closed nature. SoftCamp files are heavily encrypted and require specific corporate authentication modules to open. They cannot be opened by standard text editors or document viewers. Similarly, PIXELA project files only contain editing metadata, not actual video data, making them useless without the original source media.
Standard online converters fail to process .PME files because they lack the proprietary decryption keys for SoftCamp or the rendering engine for PIXELA. If it is a video project, you must export it from the original software to a standard format like MP4 or MOV. For encrypted documents, decryption within the SoftCamp environment is mandatory before extracting to PDF or DOCX.
