Convert PIE to another file type
To convert PIE prototypes to another format, you need ProtoPie or other Other software.
Convert a file to PIE
To convert other file formats to the "Prototype / Encrypted Archive" file type, you need software like ProtoPie or a similar tool.
About PIE files
The .PIE file extension represents a heavily fragmented set of formats, making it notoriously difficult for standard tools to handle. Most prominently, it is either an interactive prototype built in ProtoPie, or a victim file encrypted by the Magniber ransomware (often analyzed by security firms like Sangfor). It can also act as an Italian Certified Email Receipt (PEC), a Dell Update Package (DUP), or a GlovePIE controller script. Because of this massive variance, dealing with a .PIE file requires knowing exactly where it originated. The disadvantages of these formats are significant. ProtoPie files are strictly proprietary, locking your UI/UX designs behind a costly subscription. Magniber files represent total data loss unless a specific decryptor is found. Standard online converters fail completely because they cannot distinguish between a ZIP-based Dell update, an ELF Android executable, or plain UTF-8 text. When conversion is possible, the targets depend entirely on the sub-type. ProtoPie designs should be exported to PDF or PNG from within the app. Dell firmware updates can be directly renamed and extracted as ZIP folders. GlovePIE mapping scripts seamlessly convert to TXT. This file format is notoriously difficult to open or convert online because standard converters rely on uniform file structures. Emphasize that often only the original software can properly read or export the data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format - like a hidden archive or plain text - viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your PIE file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert PIE file to INI, CFG, CONF, CONFIG, JSON, XML, YAML, YML, TOML, ENV, PROPERTIES or RC, you can use ProtoPie or similar software from the "Interactive Prototype or Encrypted Data" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert ZSHRC, CONF, RCFILE, GITCONFIG, RC, PLIST, BASHRC, CONFIG, PROFILE, INI, PREFS or CFG files to PIE, try ProtoPie or another comparable tool in the "Interactive Prototype or Encrypted Data" category.
The PIE Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our PIE converter.
