About PHT files

The .pht extension represents a collision between modern AI development and legacy web scripting. In 58% of cases, a .pht file is a PyTorch model weights archive - likely a variant or misspelling of the standard pth or pt format. These files are actually ZIP containers holding serialized neural network states (pickled Python objects), used to store trained logic for deep learning applications. They are not images or documents you can "open" with a double-click; they must be loaded programmatically using Python.

The secondary use case (approx. 5%) is a Partial Hypertext file, a deprecated server-side script related to PHP. While legitimate for older web templates, .pht is frequently used today by penetration testers and malicious actors as a "web shell" to bypass file upload filters that block standard php files.
