Extract text from P2I files

To convert other file formats to the "Proprietary Disc Image" file type, you need software like CyberLink Power2Go or a similar tool.
The .P2I file is a proprietary disc image format created by CyberLink Power2Go. Unlike a standard ISO file, which acts as a universal container for optical disc data, the .P2I format is designed specifically to work within the CyberLink ecosystem, including their Virtual Drive utilities. While effective for making exact backups of CDs, DVDs, or Blu-rays using Power2Go, this format becomes a significant liability when you move to a computer without CyberLink software installed.
The primary difficulty is compatibility: neither Windows Explorer nor macOS Disk Utility can mount .P2I files natively. If you are archiving data or trying to access old backups, keeping files in this proprietary format risks data lock-in. To ensure your data remains accessible for the long term, the pragmatic solution is converting .P2I files to the industry-standard ISO format. This allows you to mount the image on any modern operating system, burn it using free tools, or inspect the contents using standard archivers.
