About OX files
An .OX file contains source code written in the Ox programming language, an object-oriented matrix language widely used for econometrics and statistical analysis. These scripts define mathematical algorithms, classes, and data manipulations intended for execution within the OxMetrics environment or the standalone Ox Console. While powerful for statistical modeling, .OX files present significant friction for sharing; they are plain text but require the specific interpreter to run, and standard text editors often fail to provide appropriate syntax highlighting for the unique Ox syntax.
