Extract text from Overture and Olive files (OVE)

The .OVE file extension primarily represents an Overture Musical Score created by Sonic Scores Overture (formerly GenieSoft). It stores music notation, track layouts, and dynamics data. Alternatively, it serves as a video project file for the open-source Olive Video Editor, using an XML-based structure to save timeline edits.
Both formats present significant disadvantages for sharing. Overture .OVE files use a closed, proprietary format. Without the original software, recipients cannot view, play, or edit the sheet music, and web browsers cannot natively render them. Olive .OVE files are simply text documents pointing to local media assets on your hard drive. They do not contain any actual video or audio data. Sending an Olive project file without the original source media always results in a broken project.
To overcome these limitations, you must convert the files to universal formats. Open music scores in Overture and export them to PDF for reading and printing, or MusicXML for editing in other notation software. For video projects, you must render the timeline directly from Olive into a standalone MP4 or MKV video file. Standard online converters fail to process these files because they lack the proprietary Overture notation engine and do not have access to your local video assets.
