Extract text from Origin worksheet templates (OTW)

The .OTW file is an Origin Worksheet Template used by OriginLab Origin, a professional data analysis and graphing software. These files store worksheet settings, column formats, mathematical parameters, and GUI layouts, standardizing data entry for scientists and engineers.
This proprietary format is highly restricted. Users often need to convert .OTW files because they lack a costly, active subscription to OriginPro. Standard applications like Microsoft Excel or web browsers cannot open them natively. A major disadvantage is that this format acts primarily as a structural shell; attempting to extract raw data often yields nothing because the data itself is usually stored in a project file, not the template.
If you need to share the structural layout, the best target conversion formats are standard XLSX, CSV, or PDF. Keep in mind that custom Origin C scripts, proprietary mathematical functions, or specific scientific graph bindings will be permanently lost during conversion to a generic spreadsheet.
