About OTB files

The .OTB file extension serves multiple distinct purposes. Its most common use is as an Open Tibia Item Data file for the MMORPG Tibia, containing proprietary binary data about in-game items. The second major use is the Nokia Over-the-Air (OTA) Bitmap, a legacy monochrome image format designed for 2G mobile phones and historically managed via Nokia PC Suite. Less commonly, it functions as an OpenType Bitmap Font or an Observer XT project backup. Both primary formats present serious modern usability issues. Tibia item files are proprietary binary blobs completely unreadable outside of dedicated server emulation tools. Nokia OTA bitmaps are unsupported by modern web browsers, native image viewers, or mobile devices, limiting you to simple, obsolete black-and-white pixels. To make these files usable, conversion is mandatory. For Nokia images, convert them to PNG for web use or archiving without quality loss. For OpenTibia files, parsing them into XML or JSON is necessary to edit item properties in standard text editors.
