Convert ORX to another file type
To convert ORX schema files to another format, you need RadiantOne VDS or other Database software.
Convert a file to ORX
To convert other file formats to the "Virtual Directory Schema" file type, you need software like RadiantOne VDS or a similar tool.
About ORX files
The .ORX file format is a proprietary database schema file used by Radiant Logic's RadiantOne Virtual Directory Server (VDS) and Federated Identity Service (FID). It stores the complex structural definitions required to map and virtualize identity data from multiple disparate enterprise sources - like Active Directory, LDAP, SQL databases, and web services - into a single logical directory.
The core disadvantage of the .ORX format is its strict vendor lock-in. It is deeply tied to the RadiantOne ecosystem and requires enterprise-grade, expensive software to open or modify natively. These files cannot be imported directly into standard relational databases or generic LDAP servers without extensive parsing. System administrators often face severe limitations when trying to audit, document, or migrate identity schemas, as the format is unrecognized by standard IT management tools out of the box.
To make this data usable outside of the RadiantOne environment, administrators frequently need to convert .ORX files to standard structural formats like XML, JSON, or SQL. Because it is a closed, proprietary enterprise format, standard online converters completely fail to process it. Often, only the original RadiantOne software can properly read or export the full virtualization logic without data loss. If our analysis detects a supported underlying XML or plain text embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your ORX file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert ORX file to DB, SQLITE, SQLITE3, MDB, ACCDB, DBF, ODB, FDB, GDB, MYD, FRM or SQL, you can use RadiantOne VDS or similar software from the "Identity Virtualization Database Schema" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert NDF, SQLITE3, BAK, RDB, SQL, DB4, MDF, MDB, LDF, DB, DB3 or SQLITE files to ORX, try RadiantOne VDS or another comparable tool in the "Identity Virtualization Database Schema" category.
The ORX Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our ORX converter.
