About MV_ files
The .mv_ file is a video project backup automatically generated by MAGIX video editing software, such as Movie Studio or Video deluxe. Under the hood, it uses a RIFF container structure to store project timelines, effect settings, and file paths. It acts as an emergency restore point if the main project file becomes corrupted or the system crashes. The main disadvantage of the .mv_ format is that it is a proprietary, closed project file, not an actual video. It does not contain media assets. It relies entirely on the local file paths of the user's hard drive and requires a paid software license to open. Standard online converters fail to process this format because it is merely a set of instructions rather than renderable pixel data. You cannot simply convert a .mv_ to an MP4 or AVI without the original software engine to render the linked assets.
