About MSPX files
The .MSPX file is a server-side web page created with Microsoft ASP.NET. It contains a mix of static HTML markup and dynamic server-side programming code, typically written in C# or VB.NET, designed to be processed by an IIS (Internet Information Services) web server. Developers primarily create and edit these files using Microsoft Visual Studio or a basic text editor. For more context on the framework, see the ASP.NET Wikipedia page. Users generally need to convert or inspect this file because they downloaded it by accident when a server misconfiguration forced a download rather than rendering the web page. The primary disadvantage of a downloaded .MSPX file is that it is essentially useless as a visual webpage on a local computer; without a properly configured IIS server, web browsers cannot execute the proprietary server-side logic inside. The best conversion targets are .HTML to view the raw static markup, .TXT for code analysis, or .PDF to document the source code. However, note that you will be saving the raw code, not the rendered graphical webpage. Because this file format is a script intended for server execution, it is difficult to open or convert into a functioning visual document. Often only the original server environment can properly read or export the final data.
Convert.Guru analyzes your MSPX file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert MSPX file to HTML, HTM, CSS, JS, PHP, ASP, ASPX, JSP, JSPX, PY, RB or PL, you can use Microsoft Visual Studio or similar software from the "Server-Side Web Page" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….

The MSPX Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our MSPX converter.
