About MS13 files

The .ms13 file format is a proprietary electronic circuit design and simulation file created specifically by NI Multisim version 13. Engineers and students use these files to store circuit schematics, SPICE simulation parameters, and PCB layout data. To properly open, edit, and simulate a .ms13 file, you need the original NI Multisim software developed by National Instruments. The major disadvantage of this format is its strict vendor lock-in. It requires a costly software license and runs primarily on Windows environments. Users frequently struggle to share circuit designs with clients, professors, or colleagues who do not have the exact software version installed. For easy sharing and viewing, the best target formats are standard document or image types. Converting the schematic to a PDF, PNG, or JPG file allows anyone to view the circuit design on any device. However, converting to these flat formats means you will lose all SPICE simulation capabilities and dynamic test instrument data. If you need to move the design to another EDA tool, exporting to a standard SPICE netlist (CIR) from within Multisim is required. The .ms13 extension uses a closed, proprietary data structure. This makes it extremely difficult for standard online converters to parse the circuit geometry or simulation logic. Often, only the original Multisim software can properly read or export the data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your MS13 file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

FAQ

If you want to convert MS13 file to DWG, DXF, DGN, RVT, RFA, SKP, 3DM, STEP, IGES, SAT, X_T or X_B, you can use NI Multisim or similar software from the "Electronic Circuit Simulation" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….

To convert SLDASM, DGN, PRT, IAM, X_B, CATPRODUCT, SLDPRT, RVT, ASM, DWG, CATPART or DXF files to MS13, try NI Multisim or another comparable tool in the "Electronic Circuit Simulation" category.

The MS13 Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our MS13 converter.
