About MPDP files
A .MPDP file is a proprietary project file created by MixPad Multitrack Recording Software by NCH Software. Unlike standard audio files (MP3, WAV), this file does not contain the actual sound data. Instead, it acts as a roadmap, storing the timeline, edit points, volume levels, and effects settings, while referencing the actual audio assets stored in a corresponding .mpdp.ProjectData folder.
A common limitation occurs when users transfer only the .mpdp file to a client or different computer without the accompanying ProjectData folder, resulting in "missing file" errors. Additionally, because it is a raw data container, it cannot be opened by media players like VLC Media Player or uploaded to standard web converters. To convert a MixPad project to a playable format, you must open the original project in MixPad and use the "Export Project as Audio File" function to render it as a MP3 (for web/email) or WAV (for archiving/mastering).
Use Convert.Guru to open and convert your MPDP file.

The MPDP Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our MPDP converter.
