About MOX files
A .MOX file is a multi-purpose file extension primarily used for Xactimate document macros and opening statements, as well as complex simulation models in software like AnyLogic or ExtendSim. It is also utilized for 3D model assets in video games such as Emergency 4 and Kingsoft JX3 Online.
These formats are strictly proprietary and highly specialized. Users frequently encounter "cannot open file" errors because standard operating systems cannot determine which specific program created the .MOX file. Furthermore, specialized applications like Xactimate require expensive subscriptions to view simple documents, and standalone simulation models cannot be analyzed without installing their heavy, native simulation engines. This lack of interoperability makes sharing and converting the data extremely frustrating.
This file format is exceptionally difficult to open or convert. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the data into standard formats. Standard online converters fail because they rely on predictable file structures. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format - such as an internal ZIP structure for Xactimate files or XML for Moxie Viewer data - extracting or viewing the raw contents may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your MOX file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert MOX file to CSV, JSON, XML, YAML, YML, TOML, INI, CFG, CONF, DAT, DB or SQL, you can use Xactimate or similar software from the "Macro and Simulation Data" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert DBF, XML, SQLITE, XLSX, SQL, TSV, ACCDB, YAML, MDB, CSV, ODS or JSON files to MOX, try Xactimate or another comparable tool in the "Macro and Simulation Data" category.
The MOX Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our MOX converter.
