Convert MNU to another file type
To convert MNU menus to another format, you need LabVIEW or other Settings software.
Convert a file to MNU
To convert other file formats to the "Menu Configuration File" file type, you need software like LabVIEW or a similar tool.
About MNU files
A .MNU file generally functions as a Menu Configuration File. It dictates the layout, custom shortcuts, toolbars, and commands of the user interface inside a specific software program. These files are highly fragmented across different industries. They are prominently used as palette menus in LabVIEW, legacy interface layouts in AutoCAD, menu customizations in Adobe Photoshop, and even in Point of Sale (POS) systems or games like Assetto Corsa.
The primary disadvantage of the .MNU format is its lack of standardization. A .MNU file from a Betty Crocker cookbook software is entirely incompatible with an AutoCAD .MNU file. Internally, some are stored as compiled binary data, some utilize Microsoft's Jet Database Engine (JetDB), and others use simple XML or plain text. This makes them functionally useless outside their parent software. Furthermore, modern programs frequently deprecate these files; for example, newer AutoCAD versions require legacy .MNU files to be compiled into modern CUIx formats.
Because of this extreme proprietary fragmentation, standard online converters fail completely. You cannot convert a software menu into a document or an image. For binary or JetDB variants, our analyzer will inspect the file, read the internal headers, and show embedded text content to help you identify which software originally created it.
Convert.Guru analyzes your MNU file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert MNU file to INI, CFG, CONF, CONFIG, JSON, XML, YAML, YML, TOML, ENV, PROPERTIES or RC, you can use LabVIEW or similar software from the "Software Interface Menu Configuration" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert ZSHRC, CONF, RCFILE, GITCONFIG, RC, PLIST, BASHRC, CONFIG, PROFILE, INI, PREFS or CFG files to MNU, try LabVIEW or another comparable tool in the "Software Interface Menu Configuration" category.
The MNU Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our MNU converter.
