The .MGM file extension primarily operates as a proprietary game asset file. It is most commonly used as a Game Menu/UI Package file for the Magma Engine developed by Eugen Systems, or as a 3D game model file for the IL-2 Sturmovik flight simulator series. Less frequently, it functions as an MGCSoft Equation Illustrator Macro or an offline map file for Mobile GMaps.
Users usually need to convert this file when they want to mod a game, extract 3D meshes, or edit UI graphics. The severe disadvantage of the .MGM format is that it is strictly proprietary. You cannot open these files with standard 3D software like Blender or 2D editors like Adobe Photoshop.
