Additionally, legacy systems use them as Point-of-Sale (POS) transaction totals or IBM i Access data transfer requests encoded in UTF-16 (LE).
The main disadvantage of the .DTT format is its extreme fragmentation. Because the exact same extension is shared by wildly different applications - from gaming engines to cash registers and tensile testing software - standard operating systems cannot natively read or route these files to the correct application.
