About LT files
The .LT file extension is a highly fragmented format that serves completely different purposes depending on the software that created it. Most commonly, it functions as an XML-formatted Voyager application log file mapped as an Apple plist file in Xcode. It is also heavily used as a UTF-8 application localization text file by Kaspersky Safe Kids. Historically, it was utilized by WordPerfect as a legacy Letter Template or printer file.
Because the .LT extension is shared across unrelated applications, operating systems rarely know how to open it automatically. Double-clicking an .LT file often results in an annoying 'Unknown Program' error. Furthermore, these files typically contain raw, unformatted code, nested XML tags, or proprietary localization strings that are messy and difficult to read. Modifying Kaspersky localization files without understanding the internal structure can completely break the software's language interface.
To make the data readable and shareable, converting these files to standard TXT, XML, or PDF is highly recommended. However, this file format is notoriously difficult to open or convert online because of 'extension collision.' Standard converters rely strictly on the file extension to guess the format, and since .LT has multiple conflicting meanings, they simply reject it. If our analysis detects the underlying XML or UTF-8 embedded format, viewing or converting the raw text is usually straightforward.
Convert.Guru analyzes your LT file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert LT file to GAL, MT, UTC, EXE, ISO, BIN, CUE, PAK, WAD, PK3, PK4 or BSP, you can use Xcode or similar software from the "Application Logging & Localization" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert MOD, BIN, CFG, SCX, DAT, MPQ, LOG, CUE, INI, EXE, SCM or ISO files to LT, try Xcode or another comparable tool in the "Application Logging & Localization" category.
The LT Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our LT converter.
