About LSI files
A .LSI file is a proprietary label design created by LightScribe Direct Disc Labeling technology, primarily developed by HP. These files are generated by the LightScribe Template Labeler or Simple Labeler software and contain the circular text and image layout intended to be etched onto the surface of a specially coated CD or DVD using the drive's laser. Since LightScribe was discontinued around 2013, the official software is now considered abandonware and is notoriously difficult to install on modern operating systems like Windows 10 or 11. Users typically need to convert these legacy files to standard formats like JPG, PNG, or PDF to archive their disc designs, print them on standard adhesive labels, or view them without maintaining obsolete hardware and drivers.
Convert.Guru analyzes your LSI file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert LSI file to TMP, TEMP, CACHE, LOG, BAK, OLD, NEW, PART, DOWNLOAD, CRDOWNLOAD, LOCK or PID, you can use LightScribe Template Labeler or similar software from the "Disc Label Design" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert DEVICE, CACHE, SOCK, SYMLINK, PID, MOUNT, FIFO, LOG, PIPE, TMP, JUNCTION or TEMP files to LSI, try LightScribe Template Labeler or another comparable tool in the "Disc Label Design" category.
The LSI Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our LSI converter.
