Extract text from Laserbox project files (LQ)

The .LQ file extension is primarily used as a Laserbox Project File by Makeblock. These files store vector paths, raster images, and hardware parameters like laser power, speed, and passes required for laser cutting and engraving. A secondary 10% of .LQ files are JSON-based insurance quotation and signature data files used by Liberty Group Ltd, or interface files used by LiquidText.
The biggest disadvantage of the Makeblock .LQ format is that it is strictly proprietary. You are locked into their hardware ecosystem. You cannot natively open a .LQ file in standard vector editors like Adobe Illustrator or Inkscape. If you need to share a design with a client, archive the vector paths, or use a different brand of laser cutter, the original .LQ file is essentially a black box that requires a specific desktop application to read.
Converting these files is difficult because standard online tools fail to recognize the proprietary wrappers. However, underneath the hood, Laserbox .LQ files are often just GZIP archives, and the quotation files are plain JSON text. This means the underlying vector data (like SVG) or configuration data can often be salvaged.
