About LOP files
The .lop file extension primarily serves as a Lockout-Tagout procedure file. These files are generated by specialized safety compliance software, most notably Brady LINK360 and the legacy LockoutPro software. They store critical safety protocols, equipment images, and energy source isolation steps for industrial environments. A secondary, less common use for the .lop extension is a layout configuration file for the MasterCook recipe management software by ValuSoft.
The biggest disadvantage of the .lop format is extreme vendor lock-in. It is a proprietary, closed format tied directly to expensive corporate safety software. If you need to share a lockout-tagout procedure with an external maintenance contractor or an auditor who does not have a paid Brady subscription, they simply cannot open the file. Standard online converters fail to process .lop files because the internal layout schema is not publicly documented, making automated conversion nearly impossible.
To bypass these restrictions, the best approach is to target standard formats like ZIP to access the raw data, or PDF if you have the original software to export it. Internally, Brady .lop files are actually formatted as standard ZIP archives disguised with a custom extension. By treating the file as an archive, you can extract the embedded XML text data and JPG safety photos, though you will lose the official document formatting.
This file format is exceptionally difficult to convert directly into a finished document because only the original software knows how to properly map the data into a compliant printed layout. However, just drag and drop your file onto convert.guru to identify the format, inspect the internal structure, and extract its contents. Because our analysis easily detects the supported underlying ZIP container, viewing the raw text and extracting the embedded images is still entirely possible without buying a software license.
Convert.Guru analyzes your LOP file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert LOP file to INI, CFG, CONF, CONFIG, JSON, XML, YAML, YML, TOML, ENV, PROPERTIES or RC, you can use Brady LINK360 or similar software from the "Lockout-Tagout Safety Procedure" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert ZSHRC, CONF, RCFILE, GITCONFIG, RC, PLIST, BASHRC, CONFIG, PROFILE, INI, PREFS or CFG files to LOP, try Brady LINK360 or another comparable tool in the "Lockout-Tagout Safety Procedure" category.
The LOP Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our LOP converter.
