The .lilocked file extension is appended to files that have been maliciously encrypted by the Lilocked (also known as Lilu) ransomware. This malware primarily targets Linux-based servers, exploiting vulnerabilities in web applications to gain access and encrypt site-related files like HTML, PHP, JS, and various image formats.
Because these files are modified using strong cryptographic algorithms, you cannot open them with standard software or simply rename the extension to fix them. Reversing the encryption requires a specific private decryption key or a verified decryption tool from cybersecurity groups like the No More Ransom project.
