Convert LE to another file type
To convert your LE file to another format, you need Skyloong Driver or other Settings software.
Convert a file to LE
To convert other file formats to the "RGB Lighting Profile" file type, you need software like Skyloong Driver or a similar tool.
About LE files
A .LE file is primarily a Keyboard Lighting Effect configuration used by enthusiast mechanical keyboards from manufacturers like Geek GK, Skyloong, and Epomaker (e.g., the popular GK61 or SK64 series). These proprietary files contain binary instructions for the keyboard's MCU to render complex RGB animations, such as "Music Rhythm" or "Rainbow Wave" modes.
Common Friction Points: Users typically encounter these files when downloading custom lighting profiles from Reddit or Discord communities. The main challenge is that .LE files are strictly proprietary; they are not standard video files (like MP4) and cannot be viewed in media players. They rely entirely on the specific, often clunky, driver software (e.g., GK6X Plus Driver or Skyloong Driver) to function. Attempting to open them in text editors will reveal unreadable binary garbage. Additionally, the driver software is known for poor localization and occasional false-positive antivirus flags, adding to the user frustration.
Best Practices for Handling:
For Lighting: There is no direct "converter" to image formats. You must Import the file into the Skyloong Driver software to apply the effect to your hardware.
For macOS Users: If you find a .LE file in a system folder, it is likely an Internationalization Data Cache used by Apple macOS/iOS. These are binary system caches optimizing language text rendering. Do not delete or convert these, as it may break application localization.
For Retro Gaming: In rare legacy contexts, .LE stands for Linear Executable, a 32-bit file format from the OS/2 and MS-DOS era. These require an emulator like DOSBox to run.
Convert.Guru analyzes your LE file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert LE file to SAR, CSV, JSON, XML, YAML, YML, TOML, INI, CFG, CONF, DAT or DB, you can use Skyloong Driver or similar software from the "Keyboard Lighting Effect File" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert DBF, XML, SQLITE, XLSX, SQL, TSV, ACCDB, YAML, MDB, CSV, ODS or JSON files to LE, try Skyloong Driver or another comparable tool in the "Keyboard Lighting Effect File" category.
The LE Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our LE converter.
