About KTR files
The .KTR file extension serves two distinct, high-technical communities: data engineers and network privacy enthusiasts.
Pentaho Data Integration (ETL): Primarily, a .KTR file is a "Transformation" definition used by Pentaho Data Integration (formerly Kettle). These files contain XML metadata describing a data pipeline - extracting rows from databases, applying logic, and loading them into targets. Friction Point: While technically human-readable XML, the nested structure is complex. Users typically need the heavy Java-based "Spoon" GUI to visualize or debug the flow.
