The .kodak file is a proprietary raster image format associated with the obsolete Kodak Photo CD system. Introduced in 1992, this format digitized high-resolution 35mm photographs and stored them on compact discs. Opening these files today requires legacy software like Corel PaintShop Pro or IrfanView. The primary disadvantage of the .kodak format is its severe obsolescence.
