About KBD files
A .KBD file typically functions as a data container for either karaoke rhythm games or keyboard mapping configurations. Its most common uses include storing Karaoke Button Data for the Yakuza game series and Karaoke Builder Pro, or acting as a custom Keyboard Shortcuts File for Autodesk 3ds Max. To interact with these files, users generally must rely on the software that originally created them. Sharing a .KBD file is frustrating because it is a highly proprietary format. Users without the parent software cannot easily view the mappings, leading to a need to convert the data into a readable format. Furthermore, game-specific files are often compiled as binary, making them impossible to read with standard tools.
