About JFM files

The .JFM file extension is primarily associated with the Extensible Storage Engine by Microsoft, acting as a Database Flush Map or transaction log used in Microsoft Exchange. Additionally, .JFM files serve as legacy JetForm database forms, JAWS screen reader frame files, or Java font metrics for JFormDesigner. The main disadvantage of the .JFM format is its highly proprietary and fragmented nature. Extensible Storage Engine logs are system-dependent and cannot be read without the primary EDB database. JetForm is an obsolete enterprise format, requiring outdated, expensive software to open. This makes standard conversion practically impossible. Standard online converters fail to process .JFM files because they do not contain standard document or image structures. If you need to read the data, the target format is typically PDF or XML, but this requires exporting directly from the native software. Because this file format is difficult to open or convert, often only the original software can properly read or export the data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your JFM file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted KDT, FMS and TST files.

The JFM Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our JFM converter.
