Extract text from Impulse Tracker audio samples (ITS)

The .ITS file extension is heavily fragmented. Historically, it is an Info-Tech Storage file developed by Microsoft or an ITOL/ITLS compressed file used by legacy Franklin Electronic Publishing's Bookman devices. The major disadvantage of these legacy versions is their closed, proprietary nature. They are obsolete, undocumented, and impossible to open without outdated hardware or highly specialized legacy extractors.
Modern users are more likely to encounter .ITS files as Internationalization Tag Set rules. Standardized by the W3C and used in vector graphics editors like Inkscape, these files use standard XML to manage translations and localizations. Less commonly, .ITS files function as Impulse Tracker Samples for retro audio editing or Microsoft Internet Document Sets.
Because the older compressed versions are strictly proprietary binary archives, standard online converters will fail to process them. You cannot reliably convert a 1990s Bookman archive to a modern document format. Conversely, the modern tag set variants are easily read but may need conversion to standard TXT or XML for wider compatibility.
