About ITI files
The .ITI file extension represents two distinct legacy formats that often confuse users.
Impulse Tracker Instrument: This is the most "convertible" variant. Created by Jeffrey Lim for the DOS-based Impulse Tracker, this file bundles audio samples, envelope curves, and vibrato settings into a single instrument definition. Musicians and producers often encounter these when digging through 1990s "demoscene" archives or mod files. The disadvantage is that standard media players (like Windows Media Player or VLC) cannot play them, and modern DAWs (like Ableton or FL Studio) require specific plugins to import them.
Blu-ray/WinDVD Interactive Theme: These are proprietary skin or configuration files used by Corel WinDVD (formerly InterVideo). They define the visual interface (buttons, backgrounds) for the DVD/Blu-ray player software. These files are encrypted or compiled specifically for the playback engine and generally cannot be converted to standard image formats like JPG or PNG without specialized reverse-engineering tools.
Best Conversion Targets:
For Audio (.ITI): Convert to WAV or FLAC to use the raw samples in modern music production. You can do this by opening the file in OpenMPT and exporting the sample data.
For Themes: There is no standard conversion target; these files are intended solely for the WinDVD application.

The ITI Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our ITI converter.
