About IRP files
The .IRP extension acts as a catch-all container for various proprietary report and project files, creating a frustrating landscape for users trying to open them without the original software. Most commonly, these are Utility Billing Reports generated by vertical market software like inHANCE or BS&A Software. In these contexts, the file contains data meant to be formatted into invoices or municipal ledgers. Because these formats are strictly defined by the vendor, they are rarely compatible with standard viewers like Microsoft Word or Excel, leaving users locked out of their own data. Another common variation is the InfraRecorder Project file, an XML-based list of files queued for CD/DVD burning. Users frequently need to convert these locked formats into universal standards. For archiving billing data or technical designs (like AutoSPRINK fire safety reports), converting to PDF is the gold standard for accessibility. If you need to extract the raw data for analysis, converting to CSV or XML is often required to bypass the proprietary interface.
Convert.Guru analyzes your IRP file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert IRP file to JPG, PDF, PNG, GIF, BMP, TIFF, TIF, WEBP, ICO, CUR, PSD or PSB, you can use InfraRecorder or similar software from the "Proprietary Report & Project Storage" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….

The IRP Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our IRP converter.
