A .hyperesources item is fundamentally a web asset directory generated by Tumult Hype, a macOS software application used to build interactive HTML5 animations. When a user exports an animation, the software generates a parent HTML file and an accompanying .hyperesources folder. This folder stores the required JavaScript animation engine (like HYPE.js) along with all the embedded media, such as PNG images, SVG vectors, MP3 audio, and MP4 video files.
The main disadvantage of the .hyperesources format is that users mistakenly treat it as a standalone document. It is completely dependent on its parent HTML file. If you move, rename, or share the .hyperesources folder without the accompanying HTML document, the animation will break and become useless.
